Just Start

The New Year is an exciting time of year because it can be an opportunity for a fresh start in our life that can be filled with new possibilities that will bring us greater joy, peace, fulfillment, and success. We proclaim the goals we will achieve this year such as “this year I will get into shape,” or “this year I will get a new job or find my purpose,” or “this is the year I will find love!” We then combine these proclamations with a vision and the feeling of what that new life will look like and the joy we will feel once we achieve our goals.

Our heart begins to race, and the excitement continues to build the more we imagine our future success. This is the beauty of our imagination. And while goals such as these are fine, we must also ask ourselves, “how am I going to grow closer to God this year?” Considering that God is the source of the true and lasting peace, love and joy, we should order our entire lives around Him.
